Snowmobiling, Skiing and Snowshoeing

Snowmobiling is a way of life in Northern Maine and a long awaited event at the Homestead Lodge and the Buffalo Ride-In Restaurant on ITS 85 in OxBow, Maine, as are cross country skiing and snowshoeing.

The beauty of the wilderness is particularly spectacular in Oxbow. The fully groomed ITS 85 runs through the Homestead Lodge property and right to the Ride-In Restaurant’s door, making us the ideal base for those who wish to explore the hundreds of miles of trails North to Canada, as well as all points South. We have gas, oil, and trailer storage available. We combine cozy accommodations, home cooked meals, and small town hospitality with some of the finest trails in the state. Whether you Ride-In to the restaurant or come to stay awhile, let your winter adventure begin at the Homestead Lodge.

The Homestead Lodge, located in Oxbow, Maine is a member of the Maine Snowmobile Association.

The Buffalo Ride-In Restaurant is open Snowmobile season only.

Ride-In Prime Buffalo Burger
Fresh home grown, grass fed and apple finished, all natural prime cuts buffalo burger on a gourmet Ottenberg bun. Self serve garnishes to suit yourself.

Chilly Willie Chili
Medium hot chili with plenty of buffalo meat for a heart healthy filling meal and plenty of garnishes to increase the heat for those with iron systems.
